Places to stay: Camusbeag & Beahouse Self Catering, Stromness, Orkney. There aren't any official knitting shops, but you will find the yarn tucked in with the finsihed products, maybe some beauty care products or between the "I love Scotland" tees and porcelain Scotties. Just look hard enough. But I recommend you put the needles down and take a nice walk from Stromness center to Warebeth Beach. You will need to hold on to your gloves and hat, but the views of Hoy and Flotta are magnificent. So don't forget your camera and binoculars.
